Ein regla · hundrað orð
Every one of the hundred masculine nouns below takes the definite article the same way: stick -inn on the end. The only wrinkle is a word that already ends in -i — drop that i first, then add -inn.
Bætt við — just add it
hundur→hundurinn
a dog → the dog. Nothing is removed.
Sleppt -i — drop the i
afi→afinn
a grandfather → the grandfather. The final i goes.
Sama regla — same rule, odd ending
björn→björninn
Doubles look strange but nothing changes: bíll → bíllinn, þjónn → þjónninn.

Reglan
Ein regla, þrjár myndir
